A red and navy tartan scarf in 100% British wool. Finished dimensions: approximately 23cm wide × 150cm long, with a 13cm fringe at each end.

- Rigid heddle loom - fully assembled, 26cm weaving width, 8epi reed (ideal for DK / double knit yarn)
- 3 shuttles, warping peg, 2 clamps and a plastic threading hook
- British wool yarn in red and navy - sufficient to weave the complete tartan scarf
- Instruction booklet with step-by-step images for warping and weaving

The scarf shown in the images is not included - it is an example of what you will make with this kit. Optional: add a project bag with internal pockets for yarn and accessories.
Loom Dimensions
34cm × 39cm × 11cm (heddle up) / 9cm (heddle down). The loom has a neutral heddle position allowing progression into pick-up stick weaving techniques when you’re ready.
Beyond the Kit
Once the kit yarn is used, the loom can be used with any DK yarn. Additional reeds are available separately from TabbyandTweed: 10epi for 4-ply yarn and 6epi for Aran weight. If you’d like a new scarf project in a different tartan colourway, scarf weaving kits (yarn and pattern only, for existing loom owners) are also available in the shop.

The loom is designed and made by Gillian Siggers and Emma Baker in TabbyandTweed’s workshop in Salisbury, Wiltshire, using FSC and PEFC certified birch plywood.

Is this kit suitable for complete beginners?
Yes. The loom arrives fully assembled and the instruction booklet guides you through warping and weaving step by step. No prior weaving experience is needed. There is also a video tutorial showing how to set up the loom ready for weaving on the TabbyandTweed YouTube channel.
