A great rigid heddle weaving loom kit which is perfect for a beginner to learn to weave. The kit includes a fully assembled rigid heddle weaving loom with all accessories, instructions and the 7 skeins of yarn to weave the blue, navy, black, grey and white checked scarf. The instructions included are detailed but we also have a video tutorial on our TabbyandTweed YouTube channel which guides a new weaver through the steps to setting up their rigid heddle loom ready for weaving.
The scarf shown is not included as you will be weaving your own.

Made in the UK this loom is made with FSC Birch plywood to create a compact loom which is lightweight and perfect for a beginning weaver being delivered fully assembled and ready for immediate weaving. This kit comes with everything you need to learn to weave along with your first scarf weaving project which is a great way to learn to weave allowing you to develop the skills to weave fabric and scarves.
Once the yarn in the kit has been used the weaver can then use their own double knit yarn to weave further or alternatively choose from a selection of other scarf weaving kits available in our shop.
Dimensions of the loom are 34cm x 39cm x 11cm(with the heddle in the up position) or 9cm(with the heddle in the down position). The loom also has a neutral position allowing the weaver to progress onto more complex pick up stick weaving techniques. We also sell 10 epi and 6 epi reeds separately which can be used with this loom allowing the weaver to weave with 4 ply and Aran wool respectively.
Kit comes with:
- A rigid heddle loom with a weaving width of 26cm- a reed with a sett of 8epi - perfect for weaving double knit DK yarn
- a booklet of instructions with images and a step by step guide enabling you to set the loom up and weave on it.
- instructions to weave a scarf
- two clamps- three shuttles
- warping peg
- plastic threading hook,
- British wool yarn sufficient to weave the scarf - the scarf shown in the pictures is not included as the idea is that you will use the kit to weave your own scarf.
The kit creates a British wool scarf which is 23cm wide, 150cm long with an additional 12cm fringe at each end. The design pattern is relatively straightforward and is suitable for a new weaver.
