Weave a checked scarf in 7 skeins of British wool - blue, navy, black, grey and white. This is a yarn and pattern kit for weavers who already own a rigid heddle loom with a 7.5 or 8epi heddle. The loom is not included. A complete kit with the loom is also available in the shop.
The Checked Scarf
The checked pattern uses British wool colours - blue, navy, black, grey and white - threaded in alternating groups across the warp and weft to produce a classic, graphic checked grid. The checked weave is more complex than a single or two-colour project: the instruction booklet covers the exact threading sequence and weft colour order needed to produce the design shown in the product images.
The finished scarf is approximately 23cm wide and 150cm long, with a 12cm fringe at each end.

Shuttle and Loom Requirements
This kit requires a rigid heddle loom with a 7.5 or 8epi heddle and 82 holes and slots. Four shuttles are recommended - with five yarn colours to manage, winding two colours onto each shuttle allows you to work through the weft sequence with fewer shuttle swaps. The shuttle pack available separately from TabbyandTweed includes three shuttles; one additional shuttle would give you four.
